Strawberry Lemonade

Submitted by Amber

I love lemonade and fruity flavored things and had seen several different fruity lemonades on pinterest. I read through a few recipes and came up with this one below!

I also used honey that was not shown in this picture.

1 cup frozen strawberries
juice from 6 lemons
3/4-1cup sugar
1/2 water
1 TBS honey
5 cups ice (you can change this and the water to your taste!)
2 1/2 cups water

I put strawberries, juice from lemons, sugar and 1/2 cup water in a saucepan and brought to a boil. I cooked until sugar dissolved. I also added two of the lemon halves while it was boiling. Once sugar was dissolved I removed the lemons, added the honey and put it through my food processor. I then poured in to pitcher, added additional ice and water. I did put some lemon slices and frozen strawberries in the pitcher but you can't see them in the picture at the top.

  2. I love this! I wonder if you could blend it together with the ice and make it like a really fresh frozen margarita or something.

    1. I am so glad you asked because in my rush to get to church tonight I left out a whole sentence! I have fixed the directions now. After I boiled it, I removed the lemons, put it in my food processor and added the honey. You don't have to do the food processor but I wanted those strawberries to be liquid so that you wouldn't have mushy berries in it. I then did the rest of the steps and added the frozen berries and lemon slices as a garnish!

  16. I have a punch recipe from my mom and way back that uses boiled sugar water. Why is it that beverages done in that manner are just so much better? As I was reading I got to thinking about the peaches in my freezer and wondered what a nice peachy (sans lemonade I'm quite sure) would taste like. Gee, would the lemonade mix with it (taste-wise), I wonder.

I see you have "Salad in a Jar" in your header photo. Have you seen that blog? I have a link to the blog on my blog 5/11/12 "I wanted broccoli, rice ..."

Love the verse you chose at the header too.

I'm here via Liz's Time Travel Thursday - enjoyed by visit thanks,

  18. This sounds like strawberry lemonade on steroids! I love the fact you brought it to a boil, I am sure that would not only dissolve your sugar perfectly but also would infuse the flavors. I am pinning this to try it:) Thank you for sharing each week at Freedom Fridays! I enjoy your links so much. I always know you two will come up with something amazing.
